4 PRESENTATION -- RECOGNIZING THE FUNDRAISING EFFORTS FOR THE BENNETT VALLEY SENIOR CENTER

This time is reserved for City staff to brief the Council on departmental issues of interest. No action will be taken on these matters except to possibly place a particular item on a future agenda for Council consideration.

5 DAY OF CARING 2010
On September 8, the Day of Caring event was held, marking the official kick-off of the local 2010 United Way campaign. This event included over 250 City of Santa Rosa and County of Sonoma employees, working together to provide valuable services and assistance, and enhance community programs. This briefing will summarize some of the team-building and community spirit that extended our public services into our neighborhoods.

CONSENT ITEMS
10.1 RESOLUTION -- AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE ADA COMPLIANT, ACCESSIBLE ARBOC MOBILITY BUS AND APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS FROM THE CALACT/MBTA PURCHASING COOPERATIVE UTILIZING FEDERAL NEW FREEDOM GRANT FUNDSThis resolution, recommended by the Transit Department, authorizes the purchase of one low floor, ADA compliant Arboc Mobility bus, through the CalACT/MBTA Purchasing Cooperative, to be used for providing the flexible fixed route service in the Oakmont Community. In addition, this resolution authorizes appropriations in the amount of $173,450 in Job Ledger Code 45131for this purchase and bus graphics. Total funding for this purchase is provided utilizing $138,722.50 in FTA Section 5317 New Freedom Grant funds, through the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (Account 4338) and $34,727.50 in Transit Development Act (TDA), Article IV Capital grants. No General Funds will be utilized in this purchase.
10.2 RESOLUTION -- ASSESSMENT LIEN AGAINST THE REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1209 HEXEM AVENUEThis resolution, recommended by the Department of Community Development, confirms the special assessment lien in the amount of $3,919.44 against the real property located at 1209 Hexem Avenue for violations of the City Code that remain uncorrected by the responsible party, John Palmerlee and authorizes recording of a lien and placing the assessment on the property tax roll for collection.
10.3 RESOLUTION -- CALGRIP GRANT PROPOSALThis resolution, recommended by the Recreation, Parks & Community Services Department, directs staff to submit a proposal for the 2010 California Gang Reduction, Intervention and Prevention Program (CalGRIP) for Cities, and upon receipt of the grant award, authorizes the Chief Financial Officer to increase appropriations in Job Ledger Key 09519 (formerly account number).
10.4 RESOLUTION -- TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT (TDA) ARTICLE IV CLAIM SUBMITTALThis resolution, recommended by the Transit Department, authorizes the filing of the Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article IV funding claim for Fiscal Year 2010-11.
